offers defense investigation and expert witness services to owners, insurance companies, contractors, and designers. We will investigate the claims, form opinions, tell you what we think, and write reports regarding our findings. In addition, as necessary, we will act as testifying or coverage experts. Our areas of service include structural, foundation, slope stability, water intrusion, general design and construction defect investigations and evaluation. We are familiar and have designed and rendered opinions for wood, masonry, steel, and concrete structures; for foundation settlement, design and construction issues; for retaining walls, shoring systems, and bracing system design and construction issues. In addition, we have acted as expert in personal injury cases resulting from construction or occurring on a construction site. As expert witnesses, Nelson & McClure, PLLC has been retained by defense clients in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Wyoming, Georgia,
and other states.
Typical Projects
- Accident Investigation – We have investigated accidents involving crane tipping, trench collapses, masonry wall collapses, and a very large fork lift falling through a deck,
- Building Code Compliance – Our staff has acted as a plan review and supplied third party opinions regarding code compliance and proper design for cities, counties, states, and both the United States Postal Service and the United States Forest Service. Nelson & McClure, PLLC is pleased to continue to provide these services to various governmental agencies.
- Construction Defects & Damage -- We have acted as defense experts on construction defect and damage claims involving water intrusion, vibration damage caused by paving and soil compaction, and similar issues.
